Ingredients:

Dough:
1 2/3 cup (400 mL) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1/2 cup (125 mL) cold unsalted butter, cubed
1 egg yolk
1/4 cup (60 mL) ice water

Filling: Beef Empanadas
2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
1/2 lb (250 g) lean ground beef
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1/2 cup (125 mL) finely chopped onion
1/4 cup (60 mL) finely chopped red pepper
2 tsp (10 mL) chili powder
1 tbsp (15 mL) tomato paste
1/3 cup (75 mL) water
2 tbsp (30 mL) capers, drained
2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped raisins
2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped fresh parsley

Filling: Dessert Empanadas
4 oz (125 g) light cream cheese
2 tbsp (30 mL) icing sugar
4 tsp (20 mL) blackberry jam
1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground cinnamon
16 fresh blackberries, halved
3 oz (85 g) semi-sweet baking chocolate, finely chopped and divided
1/4 cup (60 mL) sliced almonds, toasted

Assembly:
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp (15 mL) water
