Grilled Sugar & Spice Nectarines
Prep Time
Cooking Mode
3 tbsp butter
¼ cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice, warmed
2 tbsp rum, brandy or orange liqueur
¼ tsp cinnamon
pinch ground cloves and nutmeg
4 large nectarines, halved and pitted
vanilla ice cream to serve (optional)
3 tbsp butter
¼ cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice, warmed
2 tbsp rum, brandy or orange liqueur
¼ tsp cinnamon
pinch ground cloves and nutmeg
4 large nectarines, halved and pitted
vanilla ice cream to serve (optional)
Directions
1In small microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Mix in brown sugar, lemon juice, rum (or brandy or orange liqueur), cinnamon, ground cloves and nutmeg. Stir to dissolve sugar; set aside.
2Place nectarine halves on grill, preheated to medium heat, skin-side down. Grill about 5 min., or until fruit begins to soften. Turn and grill cut sides of fruit, about 5 min., or until grill marks appear, then turn skin side down again, and brush tops generously with reserved glaze. Brush frequently while fruit grills to desired softness and edges of nectarines are lightly charred.
3Serve drizzled with remaining glaze and scoops of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Tips
1
For a more decadent dessert, serve nectarines with bowls of toppings at the table, such as toasted coconut flakes, lightly toasted almonds and shavings of dark chocolate.
