
Filipino-Inspired Strip Steak (Bistek Tagalog)

1 onion, peeled and sliced thinly
1 head garlic, peeled and minced
1 cup water
¼ cup lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
¼ cup soy sauce
3 tbsp canola oil
¼ tsp pepper
4 Sterling Silver strip steaks, 1 to 1½ inch (2½ to 3¾ cm) thick

Directions
1Combine onion with garlic, water, lemon juice, soy sauce, oil and pepper in a large re-sealable zip-top bag. Season with salt, if desired. Add steaks into marinade. Seal, then refrigerate steaks at least 2 hr. (or up to 4 hr).
2Preheat your grill at medium-high heat. Clean and oil the grates.
3Grill steaks until cooked to 63°C (145°F) on an instant-read thermometer for medium-rare, 2 to 3 mins. per side, or to desired doneness.
4Transfer steaks to a cutting board and let rest for 5 mins. before slicing and serving.
