Christmas Tree Stuffed Pizza Buns
Prep Time
Cooking Mode
½ cup cream cheese, softened
½ tsp Italian seasoning
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 can refrigerated country biscuits, 10 count
¼ cup butter, melted
¾ cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
8 slices pepperoni
⅓ cup diced yellow pepper
1 tbsp sliced green onion rings, green part only
½ cup cream cheese, softened
½ tsp Italian seasoning
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 can refrigerated country biscuits, 10 count
¼ cup butter, melted
¾ cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
8 slices pepperoni
⅓ cup diced yellow pepper
1 tbsp sliced green onion rings, green part only
Directions
1Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
2In a bowl, mix cream cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and grated Parmesan cheese until well blended. Separate biscuits and cut each into 3 equal pieces. Gently stretch each piece into a flat disc. Spoon mounded 1 tsp cream cheese mixture into the centre of each disc. Pull edges of dough together, pinching firmly to seal.
3In a bowl, toss dough balls in butter to coat.
4Arrange the prepared pan vertically on the kitchen counter. About ⅓ of the way up from the bottom of the pan, arrange 7 dough balls, seam-side down, in a tight row. The balls should be touching each other.
5Arrange remaining dough balls in rows above the first row, decreasing the length of each row, to make a triangle. You should have 2 dough balls left. Arrange reserved dough balls under the triangle to resemble a tree trunk.
6Spoon and spread pizza sauce over top of dough balls; sprinkle all over with mozzarella, leaving a slight border around edges. Top with pepperoni and yellow pepper.
7Bake until golden brown around edges and cheese is melted and bubbly, about 25 mins. Let cool for 5 mins. Sprinkle with green onions.
Tips
1
Replace yellow pepper with pineapple tidbits or other pizza toppings of your choice. You can also use a small star cookie cutter to cut a star out of the yellow pepper to decorate the top of the tree.
