
Chocolate Chip Cookies for Two

2 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
2 tbsp firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp sugar
1 egg yolk
¼ tsp vanilla extract
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
¼ tsp baking soda
pinch salt
1 oz chopped bittersweet chocolate or scant 1/4 cup (60 mL) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions
1Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). In bowl, cream together butter, both sugars, egg yolk and vanilla until smooth.
2Stir in flour, baking soda and salt until just combined. Mix in chocolate and walnuts (if using).
3Drop 4 equal mounds dough on parchment paper-lined baking sheet, about 2 in. (5 cm apart). Bake 12 min., or until golden.
4Cool on baking sheet 2 min. then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Tips

Substitute pecans for walnuts.
