The Chinese named this herb (Epimedium) Horny Goat Weed because it was observed that when goats ate this wild herb while foraging they displayed an increase in their normal sexual behaviour. Horny Goat Weed has been shown to stimulate sensory perception thus increasing sexual desire. It increases sperm production and is effective in opposing impotency caused by steroid use. In addition to its effects on sexual behavior, Horny Goat Weed has been shown to decrease blood pressure as well as stimulate the immune system, and is effective for both men and women. Traditionally used in Chinese Medicine to tonify the kidneys and strengthen the yang; for kidney-yang deficiencies, symptoms of frequent urination, and painful, cold lower back and knees.Nutrition
