At Sobeys, we are proudly Canadian and believe supporting local vendors and farmers is a powerful way to strengthen our communities. Choosing locally sourced products fosters a sense of connection between producers and consumers. Our Canadian vendors and farmers offer unique and diverse products that reflect our country’s culture and values.
What’s in season?

Enjoy local fruits and vegetables and the best flavours the season has to offer. Seasonal produce is picked at the peak of its freshness. When you eat what's in season, you're enjoying the produce at its peak, whether it's juicy summer berries, crisp fall apples, or rich winter squash. Plus, eating what’s in season supports local farmers and vendors. Check out our seasonal calendar below.
First of the season seafood
Dive into the best seafood Canada has to offer. When you choose Canadian seafood, you’ll get fresh fish from the Atlantic coast! Our season’s first lobster comes fresh, and it’s Ocean Wise recommended and supported by our Fresh Guarantee. You can enjoy every bite with confidence.

Greenhouse growing
At Sobeys, we pride ourselves on offering fresh produce all year round. Our local growers utilize greenhouse farming to provide fresh produce regardless of the season. By growing fruit and vegetables in climate-controlled environments, greenhouses allow our farmers to extend growing seasons and ensure consistent availability of high-quality products.
We support Canadian vendors and farmersÂ
