Spiced Apple Salad with Granola

Ingredients

  • 4 Cortland apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice 30 mL
  • 3/4 cup granola cereal 175 mL
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted 125 mL
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins 125 mL
  • 2 tbsp honey 30 mL
  • 1 tbsp lightly packed brown sugar 15 mL
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 2 mL
  • 1/8 tsp each ground nutmeg and salt 0.5 mL

Directions

  • Step 1

    In a bowl, mix together apples, lemon juice, cereal, walnuts and raisins. Spread mixture evenly on serving a plate.

  • Step 2

    In a small bowl, whisk together honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt with 1 tbsp (15 mL) hot water.
