Frequently Asked Questions

The contest is open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Québec, who have a valid Scene+ account and a Sobeys mobile app account linked to their Scene+ profile. Participants must have reached the age of majority in their province of residence.

The contest runs from October 10, 2025, at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) and ends on April 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. The contest consists of three entry periods:

 

- Period 1: October 10, 2025 – December 4, 2025
- Period 2: December 5, 2025 – February 5, 2026
- Period 3: February 20, 2026 – April 16, 2026

Users can make selections each week from 12:00 am ET on Friday to 8:00 pm ET the following Thursday, at which point the selections will become locked for the following week. There will be a total of twenty-five (25) weeks available for picks to be made.

There are three grand prizes to be won, one for each period:

 

- Period 1 Prize: Four tickets to an NHL® game in Toronto, round-trip flights to Toronto, two nights’ accommodation, gift cards from NHLShop.ca, Sobeys, and a pre-paid credit card.
- Period 2 Prize: Four tickets to an NHL® game in Montreal, flights to Montreal, two nights’ accommodation, gift cards from NHLShop.ca, Sobeys, and a pre-paid credit card.
- Period 3 Prize: Four tickets to a 2026 Stanley Cup® Final game, round-trip flights to the host city, two nights’ accommodation, gift cards from NHLShop.ca, Sobeys, and a pre-paid credit card.

You must:

 

- Download the Sobeys mobile app and register your Scene+ account.
- Participate in the Sobeys NHL® Picks game by selecting five NHL® teams you think will win based on weekly matchups.
- You can make up to five selections per week from Friday 12:00 AM ET to Thursday 8:00 PM ET.
- Each correct selection gives you an entry into the grand prize draw.
- Additional entries can be earned by redeeming Scene+ offers through the app.

Yes, no purchase is required to enter the contest. By participating in the Sobeys My NHL® Picks game, you can gain entries based on your predictions.

In addition to the grand prizes, nine secondary prizes will be awarded throughout the contest. The top three users in each contest period, based on correct predictions, will receive:

 

- 1st place: 150,000 Scene+ points
- 2nd place: 100,000 Scene+ points
- 3rd place: 50,000 Scene+ points

The odds depend on the number of eligible entries received during each contest period. The more weekly selections you submit and the more Scene+ offers you redeem, the greater your chances of winning.

If you are selected as a potential winner, you will be contacted within 14 business days using the information you provided upon entry (email or phone). Winners will need to correctly answer a skill-testing question to claim their prize.
