Simple, tasty and a real crowd-pleaser! Our recipe for Irish Soda Bread uses baking soda and baking powder instead of yeast, making it the perfect everyday quick bread to bake at home.

Irish Soda Bread:

Prep time: 15 min | Total time: 1 hour 30 min | Makes: 1 loaf

Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups (875 mL) all-purpose flour
3/4 cup (175 mL) large flake rolled oats, divided
3 tbsp (45 mL) brown sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
1/2 tsp (2 mL) baking powder
3/4 tsp (4 mL) salt
1/4 cup (60 mL) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
1 1/3 cups (325 mL) buttermilk, divided
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp (5 mL) finely grated orange zest
3/4 cup (175 mL) sultana raisins
