It’s estimated that 1 in 5 Canadian children, or more, go to school hungry. Sobeys Inc. is proud to support The Grocery Foundation’s mission to change that through Toonies for Tummies.
Between February 13-26th, by donating $2 at our checkouts, our customers helped provide a healthy breakfast to children in Ontario and Western Canada through school nutrition programs. And on February 22nd, matched donations up to $150,000.
Our goal was to raise $700,000 to put breakfast on the table for 350,000 deserving children. You helped us exceed our goal! Thanks to your generous donations, we raised $896,805! That’s over 448,000 breakfasts for hungry kids through our Toonies for Tummies campaign.
