Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). In a medium bowl, mix oats, flour, wheat bran, dried mixed fruit, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir oat mixture into butter mixture until well combined.
Use hands to roll dough into 2–inch (5 cm) round balls; place about 3 inches (8 cm) apart on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Press balls into thick discs. Bake for 15 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
