Baked Apples with Granola Topping

Ingredients

  • 4 Granny Smith Apples
  • 4 tsp butter 20 mL
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar 60 mL
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon 2 mL
  • 2 tbsp water 30 mL
  • ½ cup Compliments Balance Raisin Almond Granola Cereal 125 mL
  • ½ cup fat-free plain Greek yogourt 125 mL

Directions

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C.) Dot centre of each apple with 1/2 tsp (2 mL) butter. Combine brown sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over each apple. Sprinkle granola evenly overtop.

  • Step 2

    Place apples, cut side up, in 8-inch (2 L) square baking dish. Drizzle water over and around apples. Cover with foil. Bake in the centre of the oven for 40 to 45 min, or until apples are tender.

  • Step 3

    Serve warm topped with yogourt.
