Folded into pancakes and waffles, blended into smoothies or baked into a tart, blueberries are a versatile fruit worth keeping on hand. Cooking enhances the mildly sharp flavour of the blueberries. For a quick sauce or coulis, simmer frozen berries with sugar and lemon juice and serve over a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an easy weekday sundae or pair it with granola and Greek yogourt for a breakfast parfait.

Fresh blueberries can be stored in the fridge for several days. Wash them just before using, and discard any shrivelled or squished blueberries.
