Maple Glazed Scallops

Ingredients

  • 16 medium scallops
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup 60 mL
  • 1/4 tsp pepper 5 mL
  • 1 tsp salt 5 mL
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil 5 mL
  • 1 tsp butter 5 mL

Directions

  • Step 1

    In a bowl, combine scallops, maple syrup and pepper. Cover and marinate in refrigerator 1 hour.

  • Step 2

    Remove scallops from marinade and season with salt.

  • Step 3

    Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When butter is sizzling, sear scallops until cooked through, 1 to 2 min. per side. Serve hot or cold.

Tip

Marinate scallops for up to 24 hours for optimum flavour.
