Herbed Mushroom & Barley Risotto Gift Jar

  • ½ oz 1 pkg dried mushrooms, such as porcini, chanterelle, shiitake, portabello or oyster 14 g
  • 1¼ cups pearl barley 300 mL
  • 1 tbsp onion flakes 15 mL
  • 1 tsp each dried basil, parsley, thyme and rosemary 5 mL
  • ½ tsp dehydrated minced garlic 2 mL
  • ¼ tsp each salt and pepper 1 mL


  • Step 1

    In 2-cup (500-mL) Mason jar or tall, narrow re-sealable container, layer ingredients in the following order: dried mushrooms, barley, onion flakes, basil, parsley, thyme and rosemary, dehydrated garlic, salt and pepper.
